BOONE — Real Estate Sales in the North Carolina High Country have returned to levels not seen in recent years, according to a release from the High Country Association of Realtors.

Sales increased significantly in September through December with a total of 827 homes. In December alone, local realtors sold a 173 homes totaling $45.6 million. Prices remained attractive to buyers, with the sales price of the average home in 2016 being $205,000.
